Bannu Medical College Medical Teaching Institute, Bannu was established in 2006 in order to provide competent health manpower, and to promote health care facilities in the area. The college enrolls 100 students each session. The teaching faculty of the college is composed of 80 members. BMC, Bannu has been recognized by PMDC in 2011 and affiliated with Khyber Medical University Peshawar (KMU). 

 The building is located in Bannu Township. The total land for the future building is 600 Kanal.

BMC is situated in Bannu, which is an ancient and historical city, located in Bannu District. Bannu is approximately 192 km (119 miles) south-west of Peshawar. Bannu is the southern district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, surrounded by district Karak, Lakki Marwat and Tribal Areas of South and North Wazirstan.

There are three teaching hospitals of the Bannu Medical College, the newly constructed state of the art Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital (600-bed), while the two other teaching hospitals of the college are the 244-bed District Headquarter Hospital and the 130-bed Women and Children’s Hospital.

The institute has a rich and spacious library with collection of more than 6000 books. In addition, there is a Self Learning Resource Center (SLRC) to educate the students in the field of IT and to provide facility of electronic learning. The college has 04 lecture halls (air-conditioned), with seating capacity of 150 students along with an examination hall for 200 candidates.

The college has established 10 laboratories of Basic Science along with Hemophilia & Thalasemia Centre, PCR & research laboratories and Forensic laboratory. It has a separate Medical Education Department to supervise the arrangements of conferences, seminars, workshops and to help in the integrated teaching and objective students learning program in accordance the modern trends.

The college has sufficient hostel facilities for boarders. The girls hostels are located in the premises of the nearby DHQ Teaching Hospital with satisfactory security arrangements. There are six latest model 65-seated air conditioned buses and one coaster for the commutation of students.

There are different functional and active student societies in order to uphold literary, sports and social activities among the students. The college student magazine publishes regularly. The name of the magazine has been changed to BARAAN.
